Graduate Teaching Assistant | Newham | September 2026 Start Are you a high-achieving graduate looking to gain meaningful school-based experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology or another education-focused profession? A high-performing secondary school in Newham is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis until July 2027. This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and developing their understanding of secondary education within a structured and ambitious school environment.

Graduate Teaching Assistant What the School Offers Full academic year placement from September 2026 to July 2027 Weekly pay of £444 £ 513 via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) Ongoing CPD focused on classroom practice, behaviour management and safeguarding Opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers and middle leaders Exposure to intervention programmes designed to raise attainment across KS3 and KS4 Excellent preparation for future teacher training applications

Key Responsibilities Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 within lessons and intervention sessions Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group academic support Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation Helping pupils build confidence, engagement and independence in learning Supporting students who require additional academic or pastoral guidance
