The Supply Register is currently recruiting an Motor Vehicle Lecturer to support New College Durham on a part-time temporary basis starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join a supportive Further Education environment and make a positive impact on learners pursuing careers within the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be flexible in their delivery, supporting courses ranging from Level 1 full-time programmes through to Level 3 Apprenticeships.

The Role

As an Motor Vehicle Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons, supporting learners to develop the technical skills, knowledge, and industry standards required for successful careers within the motor vehicle sector.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair lessons across Level 1 and Level 2 programmes, as well as Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships
Teaching both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory
Demonstrating industry-standard diagnostic, maintenance, and repair techniques
Preparing learners for assessments, practical observations, and coursework
Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
Maintaining a safe and compliant workshop environment, promoting health and safety best practice
Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables learners to succeed
What We're Looking For

Essential:

Relevant Motor Vehicle qualification at Level 3 or above
Fully qualified in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, or equivalent)
Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33, or equivalent)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to engage, motivate, and support post-16 learners
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:

Internal Verifier qualification (V1 or D34)
Experience delivering automotive apprenticeship standards
Recent teaching experience within Further Education or a training environment
Knowledge of current automotive industry standards and emerging vehicle technologies
