SEND Teacher – Durham

Protocol Education is currently recruiting SEND Teachers to work across a range of specialist schools and provisions in Durham and the surrounding areas
.
This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate teachers who want to develop their experience within Special Educational Needs and make a meaningful difference to children and young people.
You may already have experience working within SEND, or you could be an ECT or mainstream teacher looking to take the next step into specialist education
.
As a SEND Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that are accessible to pupils with a range of additional needs.
You may support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, communication difficulties and complex learning needs
.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Differentiating learning to meet individual needs and abilities
- Supporting pupils to achieve their EHCP targets
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
- Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
- Managing behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
We are looking for teachers who are:
- Qualified with QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Patient, nurturing and resilient
- Confident with classroom and behaviour management
- Able to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Committed to helping pupils achieve their potential
SEND experience is desirable but not essential
, and we welcome applications from ECTs and mainstream teachers who are interested in developing a career within specialist education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
