Graduate Cover Supervisor - Durham

Full-Time & Part-Time Roles Available | Immediate Start

Are you a graduate looking to gain experience in secondary schools before moving into teaching, educational psychology, youth work, or another education-based career?

Teaching Personnel is working with secondary schools across Durham that are looking for reliable and confident graduates to join them as Cover Supervisors.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on classroom experience, build your confidence working with young people, and develop skills that are highly valued within education.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for managing classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain on task with the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pre‑set lessons across a range of subjects
  • Managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with the completion of classwork
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons
  • Following school behaviour and safeguarding procedures
  • No lesson planning or marking required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
