Account Manager

We are looking for a confident, personable and commercially minded Account Manager to join our client in Newmarket This is a role for someone who enjoys dealing directly with people, understanding what they need and providing accurate, commercially sensible solutions, be comfortable working with measurements and have good numerical ability. You'll work closely with the directors and take responsibility for managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to pricing and order.

The Role as Account Manager:
You'll be the main point of contact for a range of customers, building strong working relationships and making sure they receive prompt, accurate and helpful responses. Managing customer enquiries from initial enquiry through to order Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships Understanding customer requirements and providing appropriate product information Pricing specialised products accurately and commercially Calculating prices using measurements, quantities and product specifications Responding to customers with clear information and realistic response times Liaising with customers' purchasing departments and other key contacts Following up quotations and enquiries Working closely with the directors and factory team to ensure customer requirements can be met Learning the technical aspects of products and becoming increasingly knowledgeable about the manufacturing process Taking ownership of your customer accounts and ensuring a high level of service About You as the Account Manager:
We're looking for someone with a combination of commercial awareness, confidence and practical understanding . You will ideally have:
Experience in sales, account management, customer service or a similar client-facing role Some mechanical or manufacturing knowledge A good understanding of metric measurements Strong maths and numerical ability – particularly when calculating product pricing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A confident and professional manner when speaking with customers The ability to build rapport with people at different levels within a business Good organisation and attention to detail The confidence to work independently and take responsibility for your customers A practical, willing-to-learn attitude If you're commercially minded, confident with customers and numbers, and have an interest in mechanical or manufactured products, we'd like to hear from you.
