Join our team of committed professionals as a Senior Social Worker Practitioner within the Pre Birth Team in Durham. This three-month locum position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the flexibility that locum work brings. You will be at the forefront of supporting vulnerable families during pregnancy, ensuring that the unborn babies you assist get the safest possible start in life.

You will work full-time in collaboration with expectant parents, partner agencies, and safeguarding professionals to assess risks, provide support, and create positive outcomes.

What you will do:
  • Complete comprehensive pre-birth assessments and risk analyses.
  • Work directly with expectant parents to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding plans to protect unborn babies.
  • Lead Child in Need, Child Protection, and pre-proceedings work where required.
  • Build strong partnerships with health professionals, midwives, and multi-agency teams.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and present evidence at meetings and court proceedings when necessary.
  • Support families to make positive and sustainable changes.
