Location: County Durham

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Family Link Worker to work with our client based in the Durham area. This is a temporary role working 30 hours per week.

Overview:

The role holder will support children, young people and families to identify, reconnect and build lasting relationships with family members and other important people in their lives. Working alongside social workers and partner agencies, the successful candidate will help families develop supportive networks that promote stability, permanence and positive outcomes for children.

Main Duties:

* Working directly with children, young people and families to identify and strengthen lifelong family and support networks

* Undertaking family finding and relationship mapping to reconnect children with relatives and significant adults where appropriate

* Facilitating family meetings and supporting families to develop sustainable plans that promote long-term stability

* Working collaboratively with social workers, carers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families

* Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring all documentation is completed in line with organisational policies and procedures

* Building positive relationships with children, families and professionals whilst maintaining appropriate professional boundaries

* Promoting the voice of the child throughout the Family Link process

* Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safeguarding legislation and best practice

Essential Criteria :

* Previous experience working with children, young people and families within a social care or family support setting

* Experience building positive relationships and working collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals

* Good understanding of safeguarding legislation and child-centred practice

* Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills

* Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently

* Enhanced DBS certificate
