Housekeeper and Facilities

Part-time housekeeping post at Uley Surgery, the branch site of Cam & Uley Family Practice, joining its housekeeping team. The work centres on keeping the site to a high standard of cleanliness against the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021, keeping cleaning records for audit, and restocking consumables. The post is 10 hours a week, two hours a day Monday to Friday on either morning or evening shifts, and the holder is the sole housekeeper for the small site.

Prior experience is preferred, but training is provided.

• Maintain cleaning standards using recognised quality control procedures under the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021
• Follow the cleaning schedule set out in the Cleaning Standards and Schedule Policy
• Keep robust cleaning records for audit purposes
• Use correct cleaning methods and equipment safely, following manufacturers' instructions
• Replenish consumables such as hand towels and toilet roll to keep stock levels adequate
• Remove general waste in line with the Waste Management Policy and the environmental and sustainability policy
• Follow the colour-coding system for cleaning equipment, seeking guidance when unsure
• Store cleaning materials safely and securely under COSHH, HASAW and other legislation
• Report faulty equipment and defects to the Management Lead for Premises or Practice Manager as soon as practical
• Take part in cleanliness audits and follow audit action plans to address areas for improvement

• Experience of working in a GP practice
• Previous experience of cleaning or housekeeping duties
