Job Summary
The Facility/Maintenance Supervisor position reports directly to the Facility/Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for supervising and directing employees in the facility and maintenance department. The role plans, assigns work, monitors adherence to policies and procedures, coaches and mentors the team, recommends improvements in production processes and working conditions. The position is responsible for the results of the maintenance team; continuous safety focus, managing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely, workplace organization (5S), product delivery, managing spare parts, coordinating multiple projects, and creating work schedules.
In addition, they will ensure that all direct staff understand and comply with the company’s defined standard work practices and safety procedures. They will passionately provide support and train team members as needed. Foster employee involvement and communication by maintaining the Level 1 boards and facilitating or leading daily meetings to provide an environment for continuous improvement of safety and manufacturing processes.

- Assigns work orders, creates schedules and manages staff performance and attendance.
- Performs root‑cause analysis and resolves problems identified with manufacturing equipment.
- Acts as the main point of communication between the maintenance team and senior management.
- Assists in the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of Workplace Organization (5S) in the respective areas of responsibility.
- Manages relationships with external contractors.
- Leads and motivates the maintenance team.
- Makes sound and timely decisions.
- Exhibits leadership skills and sets an example for others.
- Communicates actively with the team and interacts daily.
- Develops and fosters a sense of personal responsibility and ownership within the team.
- Ensures that tasks are understood, monitored, and accomplished within appropriate time constraints and quality parameters.
- Coordinates maintenance activities with production schedules to avoid disruptions.
- Monitors equipment performance and recommends repairs or upgrades.
- Provides coaching, counseling and/or disciplinary action(s) as needed, per the standards set within company policies.
- Ensures duties are carried out respectfully toward all employees, including verbal and written communication.
- Exhibits problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take rapid and effective action.
- Maintains accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Conducts training and ensures understanding of the Nortek Production Systems.
- Monitors use of company resources to ensure optimal operating costs.
