Healthcare Nursing, LPN/LVN, Mental Health Nurse, Pediatric Nurse
McDowell Center for Children (UHS Facility), located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Registered Nurse (RN) for 12‑hour shifts.
Responsibilities- Provides leadership and direction to Mental Health Workers.
- Assists in collection and documentation of a comprehensive database.
- Administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner.
- Provides structure to and assists in maintaining the therapeutic milieu.
- Directly intervenes and assists the RN in psychiatric and/or medical crisis situations.
- Involved in activities of daily living to encourage positive behaviors and foster self‑care.
- Adheres to all facility level of care and program policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of appropriate nursing diagnosis and intervention with psychiatric patients.
- Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side effects.
- Knowledge of milieu and ability to delegate responsibility to Mental Health Workers.
- Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with adults, children, adolescents, and families.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
- Graduate of an accredited school of LPN/RN/LVN nursing.
- Current Tennessee driver’s license or valid state .
- Current Tennessee State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or LVN or RN licensure.
- Preferred experience in the field of Mental Health Nursing.
