We are seeking a motivated Junior /Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to support the design, improvement, and maintenance of our precision scanner hardware and related mechanical components. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in product development for high-reliability electromechanical systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scanners perform flawlessly in demanding environments.

- Apply engineering principles to the design and development of mechanical components for scanners and related systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, durability, and manufacturability.
- Design mechanical assemblies, individual parts, and integrated systems — this includes both new product development and improvements/modifications to existing scanner products (e.g., housings, mounting mechanisms, optical alignment, or moving parts like mirror assemblies in scanners).
- Create detailed drawings (using CAD software like Creo 10, Solid Works, or AutoCAD)
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for assemblies and components, including AVL, materials specifications, and manufacturing notes.
- Create and maintain compliance for
RoHS, UL, CE, BIS - Develop technical documentation to support the full product lifecycle, such as:
- Build/assembly instructions
- Testing procedures
- Crating/packaging guidelines
- Shipping and handling requirements
- Installation manuals
- Conduct product testing
, including performance validation, durability/reliability testing, environmental stress tests, and failure analysis for scanner prototypes and production units. - Build and test models and prototypes — fabricate or oversee quick-turn prototypes to validate designs, iterate quickly, and support proof-of-concept efforts.
- Participate in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair activities for scanners and scanner products, which may include hands-on involvement in assembly, troubleshooting, field support, or maintenance.
- Collaborate with outside vendors for design reviews, prototyping, testing, and fabrication — this includes sourcing components, managing vendor relationships, reviewing quotes, ensuring quality, and resolving manufacturing issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program
- May 2026 grad will be considered
- Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Successful completion of the FE exam (Fundamentals of Engineering)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reports/docs, BOMs, data analysis, presentations, and communication
- Experience using Creo, Solid Works, AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities involving fast iterations, shifting requirements, and adapting to testing/vendor feedback.
