Manufacturing Supervisor – 1st Shift
Join Thomson Reuters’ printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a Manufacturing Supervisor
, you will lead a team in the Distribution & Receiving departments, directing work activities to meet production, quality, and safety goals for Core Print Solutions. Eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus after 90 days.
- 1st shift – 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Role
- Directing work activity to meet departmental production targets
- Identifying and resolving complex technical problems
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects
- Identifying waste in processes and utilizing lean principles to minimize/eliminate
- Following leader standard work, e.g., daily gemba walks, tier board facilitation, and continuous improvement meetings with crew
- Working across departments to implement new technology, equipment, and processes
- Supervising a team and providing work direction, feedback, and ongoing communication about the business
- Developing employees’ skills through training and participation in process improvements
- Formally evaluating performance and making recommendations on compensation
- Making recommendations on hiring, discipline, and termination actions
- Serving as a role model for safety and holding employees accountable
- Conducting safety audits, accident investigations, and recommending safety improvements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and 3‑5+ years of related manufacturing experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Proven supervisory skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office required; experience with an ERP and SAP preferred - Experience with lean manufacturing techniques or fulfillment operations strongly preferred
- Compensation: 1st shift ratio includes no differential; 2nd shift differential $4.00/hr, 3rd shift $5.00/hr, plus a bonus plan
