- Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts, components, and assemblies.
- Proper fabrication and welding of customer parts and assemblies as requested.
- Work with high variety, low volume part work.
- Maintain quality: ensure 90%+ of completed parts pass inspection.
- Offer viable semi-annual process improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety policies and guidelines.
- Complete all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work.
- General shop housekeeping.
- Ability to use TIG welding machines and related equipment.
- Proficiency with belt sanders, handheld sanders and grinders; powered saws; various hand tools.
- In-process inspection tools such as measuring tapes, radial/digital calipers, height gauges, etc.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder focusing on aluminum and welding thicknesses from .035" to .065".
- Successful completion of an accredited welding course or equivalent on-the-job training; 5–10 years high-level TIG welding experience.
- Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (fractions and decimals).
