Overview
Boiler Operator – Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment. This role involves performing chemical testing, monitoring utility systems, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and performing welding and preventative maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform boiler chemical testing, record results in logbooks, and make necessary chemistry adjustments.
- Perform wastewater pretreatment system testing, record results in logbooks, and adjust chemistry as needed.
- Record and analyze meter readings for utilities, taking corrective actions as appropriate.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Perform welding activities including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.
- Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other equipment components per work procedures or technical manuals.
- Inspect motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions while following maintenance records.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minnesota 2nd Class B Boiler License.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English.
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Lockout/Tagout experience.
- Prior welding experience, including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing (preferred).
- Prior experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (preferred).
- HVAC experience (preferred).
