- Hours: Up to 29 hours per week; evening and weekend availability required. Hours are not guaranteed.
- Administer fitness assessment for new and interested clients.
- Evaluate and determine appropriate goals and exercises.
- Offer guidance, motivation, and expertise.
- Track and monitor progress, making appropriate changes as needed.
- Adhere to all guidelines for safety as outlined by the facility and certifying body.
- Schedule and track all training appointments; reschedule/cancel with clients when necessary.
- Direct clients to guest services to collect payments—no money should be exchanged between client and trainer.
- Develop and implement specialty and small group classes as needed.
- Participate in Community Center promotions and wellness incentives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification (ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE or equivalent).
- One year of experience in personal training at a fitness center, health club, community center, or equivalent.
- Experience working with people of all ages and fitness levels.
- Passion for the health/fitness industry.
- Ability to react quickly and efficiently in a health emergency situation.
- CPR, AED and First Aid certification required.
- Able to perform all essential Position Functions under the working condition requirements as described.
- College degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or equivalent.
- Nutrition certification.
- Specialty training certifications.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk loudly, and hear.
- May be required to move or shift up to 50 pounds.
- Required to climb, balance, reach, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to react quickly and spontaneously.
The noise level may be moderately loud when music is present.
