Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading service to clients by managing all customer document destruction needs, including safely transporting supplies and materials in accordance with company policy and all applicable laws. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring all cargo is securely fastened before transport.

Key Job

Activities:

Perform onsite and offsite document destruction of confidential information.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks; report maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher.

Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage.

Comply with all driver-related laws and regulations, including DOT logs when applicable.

Maintain security during collection by ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are locked; service accounts using a handheld device, ensuring barcode accuracy and up-to-date locations.

Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection and servicing of customer materials.

Handle customer inquiries and issues promptly, acting in the best interest of both the customer and the company.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
Valid driver’s license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
