- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get what they need.
- Use all equipment in coffee shop (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell‑by dates and take appropriate action.
- Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate manager of any needed repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity to store management.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
