The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; performing the primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients. The RN provides safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team with patient‑centered care as the foundation.
The RN shall oversee and guide nursing employees under their supervision. Interaction with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts is required with assistance in resolutions. Works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on‑call/call‑back status as necessary. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Qualifications- RN Seasonal Special Event staff may not have worked for any UHS facility for the past 3 months (90 days).
- Minimum of two years of recent relevant acute care experience on a full‑time basis or four years on a part‑time basis.
- Allowed to float to other areas where competent.
- Available to work at least four full weekend shifts per month (Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m.).
- Available to work one holiday per quarter as assigned by the facility.
- Benefits:
As a Seasonal RN, you are not eligible for flexible benefits, paid time off or extended leave back accruals. - No additional add‑on pay (shift differential, critical pay, charge pay, certification pay, etc.). The seasonal program can only be extended by the CEO or COO of FDRMC.
- Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or a compact state license, or holds a valid temporary RN license for Texas while awaiting a permanent license. BSN preferred.
- Must have and maintain BLS, ACLS and PALS.
- Must maintain current certifications per unit‑specific needs as per the AHA curriculum for Healthcare Providers.
