Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a TX or compact license, 2 years of acute care experience, and multiple certifications.

• Position is in a hospital PACU setting supporting surgical services
• Care is provided to pediatric through geriatric patients in the post-anesthesia phase
• Assignments are 13 weeks, with 8-hour day shifts starting at 6am and overtime as needed
• Schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts per week, including call one to two weekdays and every other weekend
• Responsibilities include assisting with surgical equipment, monitoring patients, and supporting the perioperative team
• Role involves direct patient care and communication with the surgical team throughout procedures
• Monitors patient status, positions, and assists as necessary during perioperative care
• Supports maintenance and readiness of surgical equipment and inventory
• Demonstrates knowledge appropriate to the age range of patients served
• Dress code or scrubs must comply with hospital policy

• Active TX or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum two years of recent acute care RN experience in a US hospital required
• Expertise in Operating Room and PACU required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA only), and CPI
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
