Position: Associate Medical Assistant and Medical Assistant - Multiple Clinics Southern Oregon

Description

The position will support the delivery of cost‑effective, clinically competent, reliable healthcare by following the core values of Providence Medical Group – Justice, Excellence, Dignity, Integrity, and Compassion. Medical Assistants work under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed and assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. This role is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, and assisting physicians with exams.

Medical Assistants are expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Providence Medical Group is a group of primary care and specialty care clinics serving patients in Southern Oregon between Eagle Point and Ashland. HOME CLINIC

Open positions are located at various clinics across the Southern Oregon (including: Primary Care and Specialty Care Clinics). We will discuss current open positions and your preferences during the interview.

SKILL SETS

The job utilizes a combination of skills including:

  • Clerical computer and phone skills
  • Customer service/people skills
  • Medical terminology
  • Hands‑on clinical skills

Typical job skills include:

  • Taking vital signs like pulse and blood pressure
  • Updating medications, allergies and other information in patient’s medical records
  • Performing some medical procedures, specimen collection and lab testing
ASSOCIATE MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Required qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
  • Has completed two years medical training in the United States Armed Forces
  • Upon hire:
    National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0‑6 months)

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast‑paced environment
  • 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Associate Medical Assistant Salary Range, Oregon:
Min: $19.77, Max: $29.61

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Required qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or has completed two years medical training in the United States Armed Forces or a minimum of one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections and medication administration
  • Upon hire:
    National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
  • 6 months Healthcare experience
  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire

Medical Assistant Salary Range, Oregon:
Min: $20.70, Max: $31.68
