Hourly rate £22.02 PAYE / £28.71 Umbrella per hour
Contract Length: 3

Full Time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Subject Access Request (SAR) Officer to join the Housing Strategy, Performance and Improvement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Subject Access Requests in line with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and organisational policies, ensuring responses are accurate, compliant, and delivered within statutory deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate Subject Access Requests from receipt through to completion.
Gather, review and collate information from multiple departments.
Identify personal data and apply appropriate red actions in accordance with data protection legislation.
Ensure requests are processed within statutory timescales.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain information and provide progress updates.
Maintain accurate records and audit trails of all requests and actions taken.
Essential Skills & Experience
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately review large volumes of information.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, particularly relating to disclosure and redaction decisions.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience working with confidential information while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using case management, records management, or document management systems.
Understanding of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 principles.
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience handling Subject Access Requests, Freedom of Information requests, data protection, information governance, compliance, or records management activities.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a range of stakeholders.
