About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Repairs Support Officer to provide a technically informed and customer-focused service for residents reporting housing repairs. You will use your repairs diagnostic knowledge to accurately identify issues, raise and allocate repair jobs, liaise with contractors, and ensure repairs are progressed efficiently from initial contact through to completion.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in social housing repairs and contact centre operations, who can combine excellent customer service skills with strong technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and assess housing repair issues through effective questioning and technical knowledge.
- Raise, record and allocate repair jobs to the appropriate contractors or technical teams.
- Monitor repair progress and support the management of work in progress.
- Manage and reconcile variation orders and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate clearly with residents, providing updates and explanations throughout the repair process.
- Support complaint resolution and deliver excellent customer service.
- Work collaboratively with surveyors, contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
- Contact Centre experience
- Social Housing Repairs Diagnostics experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience diagnosing repairs and allocating works orders
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear and accessible way
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience using housing management, repairs or telephony systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
