About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SENCO with a strong commitment to Nurture Education to join our inclusive school in the London Borough of Brent. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking for a part-time (4 days per week) role within a supportive, values‑led school. You will lead SEND provision with a strong focus on nurture, inclusion, and trauma‑informed practice, supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH and additional needs, to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfil the statutory duties of the SENCO role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Lead and manage SEND provision with a nurture‑based approach
  • Embed nurture principles and trauma‑informed practice across the school
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies, including Brent Local Authority
  • Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision planning
  • Support and develop staff through training and guidance
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions

  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to work towards it)
  • Has strong experience of SEND, particularly SEMH, attachment, and trauma
  • Is committed to inclusive, child‑centred practice
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
