SANZA Teaching Agency is currently recruiting an experienced and appropriately qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) to join a specialist sensory service supporting children and young people across schools and educational settings throughout West London
.

The service is happy to consider both full-time and part-time applicants
, with flexibility around working patterns for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, you will support a caseload of children and young people aged 0-25 across a range of educational settings.

The caseload consists of approximately 40+ children and young people
, although support is provided according to individual need and not all pupils require weekly visits.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist support, advice and guidance to deaf children and young people
  • Managing and prioritising a varied caseload according to individual need
  • Carrying out statutory assessments
  • Preparing specialist reports and contributing to EHCPs
    Delivering individual 1:1 specialist support
  • Working closely with schools, teachers and other education professionals
  • Providing advice and training within educational settings
  • Liaising closely with and supporting parents and families
  • Supporting children and young people across different phases and settings
  • Working flexibly across schools and settings throughout West London
  • Completing elements of the role through hybrid working
The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who:

  • Are a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD)
  • Hold relevant teaching qualifications
  • Have strong knowledge and experience of supporting deaf children and young people
  • Have experience working with and advising families
  • Are confident completing statutory assessments and contributing to EHCP processes
  • Can work independently and effectively manage a varied caseload
  • Have excellent communication and multi-agency working skills

Previous experience working within a local authority sensory service or specialist setting would be particularly desirable.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist teacher who enjoys the variety of a caseload-based role rather than being based within one classroom or school.

With full-time and part-time options available
, the service can offer flexibility to experienced QToDs who may already have other commitments or who are looking for a shorter-term specialist assignment.
