Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate English Teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people?

We are seeking an inspirational English Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about English and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

Our pupils may have experienced challenges within mainstream education and require a nurturing, structured and highly individualised approach. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships, inspire confidence and create engaging English lessons that allow every pupil to experience success.

As an English Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual pupils' needs and abilities.
• Teach across a range of ages and abilities, including pupils working below age-related expectations where appropriate.
• Develop pupils' literacy, communication, reading and writing skills.
• Create a calm, consistent and supportive learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and understand the individual barriers they may face.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists and senior leaders to support pupils' wider development.
• Use creative and flexible approaches to engage pupils who may have previously struggled with education.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to ensure pupils make meaningful academic and personal progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and its positive, inclusive culture.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified teacher with experience teaching English.
• Has a genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs or SEMH needs.
• Is patient, resilient, empathetic and consistent.
• Has high expectations while recognising that every pupil's journey will be different.
• Can establish positive relationships and maintain clear, appropriate boundaries.
• Is creative and adaptable in their approach to teaching and learning.
• Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Experience of working in an SEMH, SEND, PRU/AP or alternative education setting would be highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from mainstream teachers who are passionate about developing their practice within a specialist environment.
