We’re a mission-driven, fast-growing start-up with ambitious goals and a purpose-led product that’s making a genuine difference to people’s lives. We’re now looking for an exceptional Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Operations team at a modern manufacturing facility in West London.
This is a hands-on, varied role offering the opportunity to work across the end-to-end lifecycle of machinery projects, from design through to build, installation, testing, and continuous improvement.
The RoleAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key part in delivering engineering solutions across a modern manufacturing environment. You’ll be involved in the design, procurement, build and development of new machinery, as well as upgrades and improvements to existing equipment and infrastructure.
You’ll work on technically diverse projects, solve complex engineering challenges, and provide hands‑on support when it matters most.
Key Responsibilities as a Mechanical Design Engineer- Deliver exciting and technically challenging engineering projects across the factory
- Work on projects from concept to completion, including installation, testing, modification, upgrades and development
- Design and improve machinery and infrastructure to support a fast‑paced production environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve major engineering issues quickly and effectively
- Provide hands‑on technical support to ensure equipment performance, reliability and safety
We’re looking for a proactive, solution‑focused engineer who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Even if you don’t tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a creative, practical approach
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting
- Highly competent in 3D CAD modelling (ideally Solid Works)
- Experience with manufacturing techniques such as laser cutting, CNC machining and injection moulding
- Good knowledge of motion and control systems (actuators, pneumatics, bearings, etc.)
- Ideally some experience with PLC programming or coding
- Degree‑qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Controls & Automation, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Ideally 4 years’ experience, though strong candidates at other career stages will be considered
