Buyer - FTC

Position: Buyer - 9 to 12 Month FTC
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist. This role is temporary to cover maternity leave. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and materials required to meet operational needs, based on requests generated by the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system. You will ensure continuity of supply while balancing key factors such as price, quality and lead time.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining smooth operations and supporting the company’s commitment to efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Duties:

• Identify requirements for goods, materials & services using MRP systems.

• Accurate planning of materials and finished goods according to historical usage or forecast.

• Raise purchase orders for goods, materials, components, or services.

• Daily review of MRP records, ensuring accurate orders including prices, quantities, dates and authorisation.

• Run reports to analyse shortages, inventory levels and safety stocks.

• Expedite orders and liaise with suppliers daily.

• Keep systems updated with current prices, lead times and key data.

• Liaise with other departments regarding materials availability.

• Follow internal authorisation and approval processes.

Key Skills / Requirements:

• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage but not essential.

• Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
