Candidates must meet the 3-year permanent rule Are you an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in safeguarding, risk assessment and multi-agency working? We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Team (MAST) in Ealing. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner who can manage complex safeguarding concerns, make sound professional decisions and work effectively alongside partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and families.

The successful candidate will play a key role in screening and assessing safeguarding referrals, undertaking risk assessments and ensuring children and young people are protected from harm.

The Role As a Senior Social Worker within MAST, you will:
Screen and assess safeguarding concerns and referrals received by the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Team. Undertake timely and proportionate risk assessments and make informed safeguarding decisions. Analyse information from police, health, education and other partner agencies to identify risks, strengths and unmet needs. Take the lead on complex safeguarding cases, providing professional social work expertise and oversight. Work collaboratively with police, health, education and other agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

Make professional recommendations regarding thresholds for statutory intervention and appropriate support services. Ensure assessments, decisions, case records and documentation are completed accurately and within required timescales. Provide professional advice, guidance and mentoring to less experienced social workers and practitioners. Chair meetings and contribute to strategy discussions relating to safeguarding concerns. Promote a child-centred, strengths-based and outcome-focused approach to practice. Ensure practice complies with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and Social Work England standards.

Contribute to service improvement, quality assurance and the development of best practice. Support effective multi-agency information sharing and joint decision-making to safeguard children and young people. Maintain professional registration and undertake continuous professional development. About You You will be an experienced and confident Social Worker with a strong understanding of child safeguarding and statutory social work practice. You should have: A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current registration with Social Work England. Strong experience within childrens social care and safeguarding. Experience undertaking assessments, analysing risk and making professional safeguarding decisions. Experience managing complex cases and working within a multi-agency environment. Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures. Strong communication, analytical and decision-making skills. The ability to work confidently with partner agencies and provide professional challenge where required.

Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced practitioners would be advantageous. The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to statutory timescales. Important:
