Youth Sports Instructor

We are looking for energetic, positive leaders to coach and inspire young athletes in fun, foundational sports programs like basketball, flag football, volleyball, soccer, and more at the Old Colony YMCA in East Bridgewater.

What we’re looking for:

Enthusiastic, patient, and engaging individuals who can teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness to kids
. Experience in playing or coaching team sports is a plus but not required.

• Instruction of assigned classes, teaching proper techniques and form of appropriate skills
• Using good sports skills and experience of the class, gym and outdoor areas
• Keeping accurate attendance records and class records
• Evaluating students ability level(s)
• Explaining progress and procedures to parents
• Preparing gym/outdoor areas with necessary equipment/supplies
• Maintaining order and safety in class
• Instruction of proper use of youth exercise equipment
• Being informed of all current and/or upcoming programs and special events to increase membership participation

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Prior experience in sports instruction, implementation, organization and supervision preferred
• Ability to work and interact positively with people of all ages
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and walk, stand, stoop, and bend during the work day
• Knowledge of various sports and game modifications including flag football, basketball, and soccer
