Overview

Bookkeeper role at Agile Business Accounting. Full-time position focused on managing financial records, HR management, and payroll administration to support the financial health of client organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Enter job expenses and credits into accounting and CRM systems.
  • Perform construction job costing reports.
  • Utilize  for accounts payable functions.
  • Prepare and process certified payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Manage HR functions, including the full employee lifecycle.
  • Generate financial reports for management and assist in budget preparation.
  • Manage invoicing and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Maintain filing systems for financial documents and records.
  • Assist with insurance audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members on management and financial projects.
  • Learn, implement, and teach new processes and software; adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Maintain a proactive mindset.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books Desktop; Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience with HR management (benefits administration, payroll processing, recruiting, full employee lifecycle).
  • Experience processing Certified Payroll for prevailing wages.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; strong communication skills.
  • Successful background checks (work verification, credit, and criminal history).
  • Experience in construction and/or service industries.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus.
Education
  • At least an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, HR certification) are a plus.
