The PositionOur community bank client seeks to fill a Credit Analyst role in the East Brunswick, NJ market. The successful candidate will analyze credit and financial reports to assess the bank’s risk in extending credit and making loans. Responsibilities include scrutinizing financial data such as income growth, market share, and management quality of potential clients.
Compensation & BenefitsThe position offers a salary up to $80K plus incentives and an excellent benefits package.
(This is not a remote position)Credit Analyst Responsibilities:- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics.
- At least three years of experience as a credit analyst.
- Experience in a commercial lending environment (C & I, CRE, etc.).
- Perform presentations for commercial real estate loans, annual reviews, and relationship reviews based on data, projections, and appraisals.
- Use financial statements, tax returns, operating statements, and rent rolls for loan underwriting, adhering to credit policies.
- Prepare risk rating forms alongside presentations and reviews.
- Conduct financial analysis including cash flow, debt service coverage, and loan-to-value ratios.
- Present loan details to lenders, internal committees, and management with supporting rationale.
- Conduct industry and market analysis to identify issues.
- Perform third-party verifications following background, credit, and bank due diligence guidelines.
Understanding of Special Assets/Adversely rated credit; involvement as needed.

Skills and experience include:
- At least three years’ experience as a banking financial analyst in commercial and industry lending, real estate, and relationship underwriting.
- Knowledge of analyzing and interpreting business and personal tax returns and financial statements.
- Familiarity with third-party reports such as appraisals and environmental reports.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of lending compliance principles and guidelines.
- Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask, analyze, and develop solutions.
- Ability to build cooperative relationships with teams and lending officers.
