University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.
-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.
University Radiology is looking for a full-time Generalist for our busy, high‑volume Patient Financial Services Department at our East Brunswick, NJ Business Office.
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Responsibilities- Correct and resubmit claims to third‑party payers
- Accurately scan hard copy EOBs and correspondence
- Accurately enter denial codes into billing system
- Accurately enter and/or update patient demographics, insurance information and any other information that may resolve the account
- Handle correspondence daily, including entering insurance denials
- Provide receptionist switchboard coverage as needed, utilizing multi‑line phone system
- Cross‑train with business support team to assist with both outgoing and incoming mail
- Print and mail radiology reports and claim forms as needed
- Upload radiology reports and supporting documentation to payer portals as needed
- Assist collectors and managers with payer projects as needed
- Comply with established policies and procedure, objectives, HIPAA and safety standards
- Must be able to work in a high‑volume, fast‑pace work environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Self‑motivated – show interest to self‑improve
- Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain a professional and positive work environment, including healthy work relationships with coworkers, strong moral beliefs and share positive energy
- Ability to learn quickly and accurately and toggle to and from different host and billing systems
- Utilize basic office technology (scanner, copier, PC, printer)
- Understand the impact of their role as it relates to the individuals job function(s) on the organization
- Effective at meetings – providing feedback, ideas and suggestions to improve the office day‑to‑day and morale
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- General knowledge of medical terminology
- 2+ years’ experience in medical field and/or clerical position
- Exceptional attention to detail
