Position OverviewAdjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The role involves creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of provided common syllabi.
Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Interact with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with college policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
$47.35 per contact hour.
LocationLake County campuses:
Crown Point, East Chicago, Gary.
- Classes for you and your family can be taken for free after you have taught two terms.
- Flexible schedule.
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed and in good standing in the State of Indiana.
- Minimum of one year of licensed nursing experience.
- Completed Indiana Department of Health Train‑the‑Trainer.
- Completed required state training session including adult learning theory or holds a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in any Health Science.
- Licensed nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana.
- Minimum of one year of licensed nurse experience.
- Experience teaching CNA Course in a college setting.
- Official college transcripts required upon hiring.
- Employment contingent on acceptable criminal background checks.
Day, evening, and/or Saturday classes based on class schedule and enrollment.
