Job Overview

The Electrical Engineering Specialist is responsible for ensuring safe and reliable operation of industrial electrical systems across multiple Oil & Gas facilities. This role involves planning, executing, and leading preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for electrical distribution equipment. The position requires independent technical decision‑making and hands‑on troubleshooting in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems, including:
    • Substations, breakers, switch gear, MCCs, protective relays, battery & UPS systems, transformers (up to 138kV)
    • Induction and synchronous motors up to 40,000 hp and 15,000 volts
  • Plan, schedule, and lead:
    • Preventive & corrective maintenance activities
    • Predictive maintenance programs (IR Thermography, Transformer Oil Analysis, Partial Discharge Analysis, Power Quality Analysis)
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical guidance to plant or contract personnel
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology OR Journeyman Electrician license
  • 5+ years of experience with medium‑voltage (5kV–15kV) electrical systems in industrial environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial electrical systems
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Office and standard software
  • Expertise in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of medium‑voltage systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Infor EAM)
  • Understanding of regulatory standards/codes and control/instrumentation systems
