Health and Safety Manager
About the RoleThe Health and Safety Manager is responsible ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance at the plant. The role entails overseeing safety activities, ensuring strict adherence to Amrize Safety Standards, and managing contractors to ensure they comply with safety regulations.
What You'll Accomplish- Provide strong leadership in promoting a safety-first culture among all project personnel. Lead by example by adhering to safety standards and practices.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance. Identify areas of improvement and work on continuous safety enhancement.
- Conduct pre-construction safety meetings with contractors and subcontractors and manage and oversee contractors' field activities.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments for all project activities. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks. Regularly assess the effectiveness of risk control measures.
- Enforce incident reporting and investigation process as per Amrize standards. Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and incidents. Develop corrective action plans and monitor their implementation to prevent recurrence.
- Develop, communicate, and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness for emergencies. Collaborate with local emergency services and authorities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including incidents, inspections, and training.
- Identify training needs and provide or facilitate training to ensure all personnel are adequately prepared for their roles.
- Stay current with new safety technologies and methodologies.
- Establish effective communication channels for safety and environmental matters.
- Collaborate closely with employees, stakeholders, including contractors, to ensure alignment with safety and environmental objectives.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Education: Associate's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Work Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial construction field.
