Health And Safety Manager

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives at a major plant in East Chicago. This role is key to ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance across operations — from contractors to internal teams — and building a culture where safety is embedded into every action.

• Champion a safety-first culture across all teams and contractors.
• Lead toolbox talks, training sessions, and regular safety briefings.
• Oversee risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for plant and construction activities.
• Conduct site audits and inspections, identifying and following up on corrective actions.
• Manage contractor safety and lead pre-construction safety briefings

• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and lead root-cause analyses.
• Maintain safety documentation and lead emergency response planning and drills
  .
• Stay current with regulations, technologies, and best practices in EHS.

• Associate’s degree OR 3+ years of equivalent experience (Bachelor’s preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in industrial construction safety management
• OSHA training required
• Strong familiarity with safety regulations
  , site protocols, and PPE standards
• Proficient with Google Docs, SAP, MS Office, and safety reporting systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Must pass respirator fit testing (clean-shaven requirement)
• Proven ability to manage compliance and drive behavioral safety initiatives
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
