National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) invites applicants for the Bilingual Youth role to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families served by the National Youth Advocate Program by working closely with youth and families to provide advocacy and support.

- Perform duties consistent with NYAP’s mission, values, and philosophies.
- Develop trusting, supportive relationships with youth and assist them in achieving identified goals.
- Provide appropriate leadership during the program.
- Create a warm, caring, and safe atmosphere for youth.
- Prepare activity rooms and space for the program.
- Report any problems to the Out of School Coordinator.
- Complete all required training, documentation, and compliance with state, contract, and licensing standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward all youth, coworkers, families, and others involved with the program.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact effectively with minors.
- Patience, empathy, and ability to provide emotional support to minors.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with office machines, computers, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily injury liability.
- Proficient use of desktop/laptop computers, internet, and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- 21 years of age.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity.
- Enthusiastic self‑starter.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Works well independently and as a team member.
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, sustained visual and mental applications.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Frequent travel and driving while seated for extended periods, varying by program demands.
