This role drives capacity planning and process optimization within an Aerospace manufacturing operations environment, supporting the standardization of production scheduling and execution across sites.
Key Responsibilities- Perform rough-cut and finite-capacity analyses to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions such as shift adjustments, staffing plans, or capital expenditure (Cap Ex).
- Develop and maintain capacity models to support master production scheduling (MPS) and ensure alignment with demand forecasts and material availability.
- Analyze production data to track and report key metrics, including capacity utilization, schedule adherence, arrears, and throughput performance.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve constraints and ensure feasible production plans within the SIOP process.
- Support weekly Sales and Operations Execution (S&O) reviews by providing capacity insights and identifying execution gaps at the part family level.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production inefficiencies or missed commitments, driving corrective actions to improve scheduling discipline.
- Create and deploy dashboards to visualize capacity risks, production trends, and resource utilization for site-level and enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce cycle times.
- Support the standardization of capacity planning and scheduling processes across sites, mentoring site planners and production teams.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and simulation tools to model and optimize production workflows and resource allocation.
- NOTE aerospace experience is a must have.
- Strong background and experience with aerospace manufacturing and capacity planning.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, capacity planning, or production scheduling within aerospace and manufacturing environments.
- Strong expertise in capacity planning logic, master production scheduling, and ERP/MRP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or Tableau) for capacity and performance reporting.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies; certification (e.g., Green Belt) is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex production constraints and propose data-driven, pragmatic solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards (e.g., AS9100) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Demonstrated upward progression and development within a company.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
