Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Manager to join our Capital Projects team at a GMP-regulated manufacturing site in Rhode Island. This role is integral to ensuring construction and facility projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and communication skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of managing construction contractors in highly regulated environments. This is an onsite position at a 24/7 GMP manufacturing facility, requiring close coordination with multiple departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support Project Managers in overseeing all contractor activities and ensuring compliance with site standards and safety protocols.
- Lead daily safety talks prior to work start and maintain a visible presence in the field to ensure work is performed safely and to quality expectations.
- Coordinate daily construction activities with multiple internal departments to prevent operational conflicts.
- Ensure all pre‑construction requirements are completed and approved, including:
Contractor Pre‑Qualification, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Method of Procedure (MOP), Chemical Use Requests (CUR). - Read and interpret “Issued for Construction” (IFC) drawings, including P&.
- Verify installation and testing meets specifications, standards, and approved submittals.
- Monitor project progress in alignment with established schedules and timelines.
- Maintain a Training Curriculum compliance rate of at least 95%.
- Participate in project meetings and serve as the "eyes and ears" of the Project Manager on‑site.
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) and GMP regulations.
- Manage multiple construction crafts and disciplines without directly directing contractor personnel.

- Minimum of 10 years field experience managing multiple trades and contractors.
- Experience working in GMP biopharmaceutical or similar regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coordinate, and collaborate across departments.
- Proven leadership and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Self‑starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
