Key Objectives of the Role

We are looking for someone that has a positive attitude towards, and good awareness of the upcoming MTD (Making Tax Digital) changes.

It is extremely important that the individual is highly experienced and capable across all the widely used cloud accounting software’s.

You will be working closely with the Company Director, and other accounts staff to build and develop client relationships and offer exceptional accounting and bookkeeping services.

You would be responsible for planning and preparing Quarterly VAT returns, CIS submissions, keeping to time frames, along with assisting with preparing the background work for year-end accounts for a broad variety of clients including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.

The individual must have at least 3 years practice experience in an Accounting or Bookkeeper role, preferably with the AAT qualification or equivalent, but not essential.

A confident communicator, have an eye for detail, proactive in their approach & be able to work efficiently independently & as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing day to day bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries.
  • Preparing & submitting VAT returns.
  • Processing monthly CIS returns accurately and on time
  • Assisting with annual accounts, from both complete and incomplete records.
  • Liaising directly with clients / HMRC to resolve queries.
  • Oversight of bookkeeping tasks of other colleagues.
  • Attendance at relevant training seminars, where required.
  • Completion of general office duties.
Required Skills / Experience
  • Awareness of MTD changes
  • Strong working Knowledge with Sage
    50, Excel, Xero and Quick Books
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy in accounts preparation
  • Strong communication skills & a client focused attitude
  • Team player in a small supportive firm
Education/Qualifications

Other relevant Bookkeeping or accounting qualifications are an advantage
