Are you a proactive and experienced Senior Client Accountant looking for a part-time role within a friendly and growing accountancy practice?
We are working with a well-established, independent accountancy firm based in East Grinstead that supports a range of local businesses and individuals. Known for their collaborative, family-feel culture and client-first approach, they’re seeking a dedicated Senior Client Accountant to join their team and play a key role in driving the business forward.
The RoleAs a Senior Client Accountant, you will:
- Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies
- Oversee and submit quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns
- Support and review bookkeeping tasks carried out by junior staff
- Manage client queries related to VAT, CIS, and general accounting matters
- Prepare background work for year-end accounts and collate personal tax information
- Utilise cloud accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage and Iris
- Stay up-to-date with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
- 3–5 years of practice experience in a similar role
- AAT qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of VAT law and CIS returns
- Proficiency in Xero, Quick Books, Sage, Iris and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
- A proactive approach and confidence in client-facing situations
