Working Pattern: Full-time, fully on-site
Hourly Rate: £19.78 – £23.92 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the RoleAre you an experienced NHS operational manager looking for your next contract opportunity? RGH-Global is recruiting on behalf of an NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead for a Service Co-ordinator to join their Plastics department on an agency basis, with an immediate start required. This is a hands‑on operational management role at the heart of a busy surgical speciality unit. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management and leadership of the Business Unit, ensuring the effective delivery of inpatient and outpatient services in line with national and local performance targets.
Key Responsibilities- Day‑to‑day operational management of the Plastics Business Unit
- Management and validation of waiting lists and Patient Tracker Lists (PTL/Oncology PTL)
- Ensuring delivery of national constitutional standards including RTT
18 and cancer pathways - Daily oversight of theatre and clinic utilisation and productivity
- Line management of administrative staff within the Business Unit
- Managing consultant leave and ensuring appropriate cover for clinics and theatre sessions
- Investigating and responding to formal and informal complaints in a timely manner
- Writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborating with clinical teams, nursing staff, and external stakeholders to optimise patient pathways
- Demonstrable operational management experience within an NHS healthcare environment
- Strong knowledge of RTT
18, cancer pathways, and national access targets - Experience managing clinical and/or administrative staff
- Degree level education or equivalent specialist experience, with postgraduate management training desirable
- Advanced IT skills including Excel; experience with NHS patient administration systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
