The Town of East Hartford is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Summer Enrichment Supervisor to work collaboratively with the permanent full-time library staff to plan, coordinate, and lead summer enrichment activities for East Hartford Parks & Recreation campers and other program participants. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, creativity, and community engagement.

Reports To: Library Director Pay Rate: $30/hour Schedule: Preferred Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (28 hours/week)
Employment Term: June 15 – August 13 (start and end dates negotiable)
Required Availability: Seven‑week period from June 22 – August 6

- Design and implement developmentally appropriate literacy and STEAM programs for children and teens (entering grades 1–9).
- Deliver programs at the library, outdoor camp locations, and schools.
- Coordinate and manage a dynamic schedule of enrichment activities, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison for enrichment partners and collaborators.
- Collect, track, and report program data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to interact with employees and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of child and teen developmental stages and age-appropriate programming.
- Creativity, imagination, and a sense of humor for engaging program planning and execution.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for campers and staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Skill in handling confidential and sensitive situations with discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree (4‑year college degree required).
- Experience working with children and/or teens in settings such as libraries, camps, classrooms, or after‑school programs.
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
