What You Will DoThis opportunity is at Pratt & Whitney Tool Support Services (TSS). The Procurement Manager (P4) will work within the procurement team, reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, owning tactical and strategic supply chain elements for aircraft engine tooling and support equipment.
Primary Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications and purchase history to determine sourcing strategy.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (requests for quotes) to suppliers, follow‑up to assure understanding.
- Identify alternative suppliers to expand supply base and manage relationship through stand‑up.
- Lead delivery assurance initiatives to support reduced lead time and improved delivery.
- Support organizational growth through collaboration and creative problem solving.
- Attend daily meetings to review open orders, commitments and delivery plans and align priority with customer service team.
- Review quotes, analyze results and determine negotiation plans and strategies.
- Issue purchase orders in accordance with AMO procurement policy.
- Perform routine post‑award management activities including PO acknowledgement and delivery status.
- Able to support travel as needed (up to 10%).
- Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Supplier Quality or Engineering; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree STEM field;
Supply Chain, Business or Engineering fields preferred. - Buyer‑level experience, ideally within SAP; experience sourcing suppliers a plus.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing or aftermarket (MRO) industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP Procurement or similar procurement system.
- Innovative problem‑solving skills (both vendor‑ and customer‑facing).
- Knowledge of trade compliance and FAR/DFAR regulations.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/Six Sigma, QCPC and RCCA).
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.
This is an onsite role. Employees will work primarily onsite and may travel up to 10%. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. Interview steps may require in‑person attendance.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: 101,000 USD – 203,000 USD.
