Pratt & Whitney is building and servicing engines that shape the future of flight. We are looking for a hardworking, high‑energy 2nd shift supervisor to manage a team of skilled traders, general maintenance staff, and outside contractors in our East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO‑AMO). You will oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution in the manufacturing shop.
What You Will Do- Set day‑to‑day goals and objectives for team members.
- Oversee planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance for the shop.
- Analyze machinery casualties and perform failure analysis to determine repair procedures and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure preventive maintenance is adequate for all machinery and recommend changes as needed.
- Partner with environmental health and safety to correct EH&S machine repair concerns.
- Manage payroll in a timely manner.
- Maintain up‑to‑date training for all hourly employees.
- Craft work schedules to assure EHRO MTS plan is integrated with internal and external facility services providers.
- Coordinate manufacturing cell transformations by moving existing equipment and installing new capital equipment.
- Generate purchase orders for contractors before work commences; create pre‑job reports to ensure clear communication.
- Build and initiate pre‑job reports for approved contractors and post at each job site.
- Use SAP to create Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) purchase orders to ensure contractor payment prior to work.
- Attend and participate in restructuring meetings when invited.
- Advanced degree with 3+ years in Facilities Maintenance, Engineering, Military, Manufacturing, or Industrial Project Management; OR Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant industry experience; OR high school diploma with 9+ years relevant industry experience.
- 1+ year of supervisory or management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields or Technical School preferred.
- Personnel management experience in a highly technical environment, leading both hourly and salary teams; bargaining unit/union workforce experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tools.
- Lean manufacturing experience and/or CORE, ACE, Six‑sigma training.
- Ability to encourage teamwork, participation, and individual accountability.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, or similar MRP/ERP/CMMS systems.
Onsite:
Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the facility. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Salary range: 82,000 USD – 164,000 USD (good faith estimate). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays (specific benefits may vary by unit).
