Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Base pay range$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Job SummaryWe’re looking for a capable Mechanic to help maintain and repair our equipment and rental fleet. You’ll work with small engines, heavy construction gear, and support the yard operations. If you’re eager to learn, have some hands‑on experience, and want to grow in a supportive environment, this role is for you.
Responsibilities- Receive daily work assignments from the Branch Manager and prioritize tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small engines and construction equipment (rollers, excavators, loaders, etc.).
- Help prepare rental equipment: inspect, service, tag, and get it ready for use.
- Assist with diagnosing issues; replace or adjust parts as needed.
- Keep accurate records of what you worked on.
- Support in-yard customer needs: answer simple questions, show safe use of equipment.
- Help maintain a breakdown list and report the status of equipment.
- Order or request parts when needed under supervision.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Be ready to work with a team, take direction, and learn new skills (lifts, more advanced diagnostics) as you grow.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Some hands‑on experience in equipment repair/maintenance (small engines, construction equipment, maintenance, etc.).
- Basic mechanical skills: ability to use tools, troubleshoot common issues.
- Comfortable lifting up to ~50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and take on new types of equipment (e.g., lifts, forklifts, electrical/hydraulic systems) over time.
