Designer. The Designer Salary designs and completes layouts of commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems for pricing and manufacturing. The position requires complete independent judgment and oversight of structural and architectural design.
Pay Rate
: $80K - $100K annually, depending on experience.
- Design commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems and produce layouts.
- Discuss changes and corrections with engineers, architects and contractors prior to and during construction.
- Prepare roof truss and truss joist layouts.
- Produce materials list.
- Determine special notes to append contracts.
- Resolve architectural and design discrepancies.
- Maintain computer system and perform routine upgrades to insure accurate and current application.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
- Associate's Degree in civil, architectural or design related field required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
- 3 years of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required.
- Proficient technical writing skills. Excellent salesmanship and communication skills.
- Special knowledge required—Reading and interpreting blueprints in an architectural related industry.
- Other—PC Literate with Microsoft Office products, AUTO CAD, and other design programs that facilitate learning in-house program with ease.
