Position Summary (Basic Job Function):
This is a temporary or on-call position supporting summer camps and conferences. Duties include responding to participant concerns, questions, emergencies, maintaining camp rules, checking in/out participants, and attending meetings. Overnight supervision may be involved.
Terms:
Temps can work two nine-month terms with a break in between, then may terminate or switch to on-call. On-call hours are limited to 1039 in any 12-month period.
Unit Position Summary:
The Robotics Summer Program Mentor guides students through robotics activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Responsibilities include assisting with building, programming, troubleshooting robots, developing instructional materials, training mentors, assessing robot builds, and providing program feedback. Mentors are expected to arrive on time, dress professionally, and follow conduct guidelines, such as refraining from phone and earbud use during instruction. They contribute to program improvement by designing challenges and sharing insights, inspiring future robotics enthusiasts.
