CMM Programmer | East Lansing, MI
Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities- Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and manufacturing process sheets.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections using CMM.
- Analyze inspection data, generate detailed reports, and present findings.
- Troubleshoot and debug CMM programs and measurement processes to ensure accuracy.
- Select appropriate probes, styli, and fixturing for various measurement applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid understanding of metrology principles and CMM operation.
- Experience with various CMM types and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on part measurement.
- Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser trackers, optical comparators).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software for model manipulation or fixture design.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CMM hardware.
