Office Manager
The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum is hiring an Office Manager. This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $32,000. Overtime is compensated with time off.
Employee benefits include health insurance (including dental and vision), 10 days paid time off, 5 sick days, and personal days as outlined in the employee handbook. An “in lieu of” health benefits payment of $150 per month will be offered.
Typical hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. The position is supervised by the director, and the Office Manager supervises visitor service associates.

Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the museum.Process and record donations and manage the hallway donor display.Process and record memberships, and assist with the membership program.Record visitor statistics.Coordinate event rentals, including pricing, reviewing event agreement paperwork with clients, collecting payments, directing setup, scheduling staff, and personally staffing rentals as needed.Open and close the museum building when no visitor service associate is present and ensure exhibits are ready for visitors.Operate the front desk when no visitor services associate is present, serving as the first line of contact for visitors.Along with the director, train new visitor service associates.Oversee the operation of the gift shop, including managing inventory.Maintain the gift shop area, office area, entry, and sidewalk; include snow removal on the sidewalk during winter.Maintain the point of sale system, and with visitor service associates, balance the cash register.Coordinate group tour reservations, including scheduling docents.Answer the main phone line as needed and direct calls.Manage the general information email account, autos.Manage the shared office calendar.Handle online store sales, mailings, and other shipping needs.Handle the weekly bank deposit, make change for the cash register, and monitor petty cash.Collaborate with the Executive Director and accountant to ensure expenditures and incomes are correctly reported in Quick Books.Order office supplies as needed.Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.Required
Skills and Qualifications - Two or more years of experience in office management.
- Strong time-management and people skills, a high degree of flexibility, and excellent multitasking ability.
- Proficiency with office applications, such as Quick Books, and aptitude for learning new software and systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
Preferred
Skills and Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in developing internal systems.
- Advanced computer skills and experience with online platforms.
